our mission

hope & redemption served daily

More than just a coffee house, The Paddock is a place where second chances are given just as generously as delicious cup of coffee. Partnering with Awake Ministries, The Paddock is giving employment opportunities to men and women in recovery. We believe that through providing employment, The Paddock can serve as a resource  to facilitate lasting recovery from the hurts, habits, and hang ups of life.

Heather graduated the program on May 20, 2021. She attends Shelby Christian Church where she says, “they help me see how there’s more to life than addiction.” She met her husband, who is also an Awake graduate, at the church. He has had five years of sobriety and waited for Heather to complete the program before taking her on a date. They have a three-month-old daughter together and Heather gets visits with her other two children. Heather has two and a half years of sobriety and she says she “got it all here.” “My success is because of the people around here and the local churches who support the program. It’s such a welcoming environment. I never felt like I fit in anywhere before, but I felt at home as soon as I got to Shelbyville. I love this community because it’s so loving and accepting.”

Healing Addiction. Healing Communities.

Awake Ministries’ vision is for a more healthy and excellent community. As individuals, businesses, and ministries serve and are served, we believe that our region will become united greater in service and purpose.
